South African musician Kingsley, known for pushing musical boundaries, is set to release ‘Kountry Klub King’, a bold new debut album blending hip hop with pop. Dropping on June 13th, his birthday, the album marks a defining moment in Kingsley’s career, showcasing a fresh, genre-defying sound that appeals to a global audience.

Kountry Klub King features a dynamic mix of rap verses, catchy hooks, and vibrant productions, fusing lyrical depth with commercial appeal. With influences ranging from South African hiphop culture to international pop sounds, Kingsley composes a musical journey that is deeply personal and universally relatable. This album showcases sonic freedom, creativity, and the different cultures found in the diverse South African music scene. ‘Kountry Klub King’ can be described as a blend of hip hop’s grit with pop’s feel-good energy, creating something honest, uplifting, and real. He showcases his artistic and producing skills, having produced 6 out of the 14 tracks on the album and being the head of creativity behind his artwork.

The highly anticipated debut album was recorded over two years in Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Harare in Zimbabwe, creating a body of work he describes as the first part of his album trilogy. What makes Kountry Klub King unique is that it is based on a true story—his life story—a reflection of Kingley’s journey in his music career from when he founded his record label, Kountry Klub Records.

The album tells a tale of overcoming and turning nothing into something, with emphasis on inspiring listeners to invest in their craft.

About Kingsley

Kingsley Kalinde, famously known as Kingsley, is a recording artist, producer, songwriter, and record engineer based in Pretoria, South Africa. He represents the latest breed of standout Gen Z artists on the African continent. Although his love for Hip-Hop stems from its early impact on him, he blends it with the R&B, Soul, and Pop influences gained from the music played in his household by his parents from a tender age. He has found a way to express himself through blending sounds that work for him.

His solo career began when he enrolled at the University of Pretoria, just as the current Pitori Hip-Hop and Amapiano scenes emerged. Around this time, he founded Kountry Klub Records as an entity and platform to amplify his talent and work. His work includes collaborations with talent such as platinum-selling artists LaCabra and Sastii (Qwellers), the platinum-selling artist Flow Jones JR, SAMA-nominated producer Dooushii, award-winning songwriter Inno, and 2-time Grammy-nominated Just6 group member Usmokolo.
