The head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, has cleared the air about the future of his forward player, Marcus Rashford, at the club.

The future of Marcus Rashford has been in doubt since the beginning of last season ( 2023/24) after he failed to replicate the performance that earned him a new contract at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim left out Rashford of the victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Amorim was asked about Rashford’s statement about his future during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Carabao Cup clash against Tottenham on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

What did Ruben Amorim say about Rashford?

“We are better with Marcus Rashford, that is simple and we will try different things to push Marcus to the best levels he showed in the past. This kind of club needs big talent, and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level, I just want to help Marcus.”

He continued,

“This kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.”

What did Rashford say about his future at Manchester United?

“For me, personally, I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Man United. That’s me. I will always be a Red”.

Rashford has spent his entire career at Man United, having graduated from the club’s youth academy. He made his senior debut back in February 2016 and has gone on to make 426 appearances, scoring 138 goals. He’s helped his team win two FA Cups, two EFL Cups, and the Europa Leagues.
