Nigerian music icon Runtown has officially made his triumphant return to the music scene with the release of his latest EP, Soundgod Fest IV. The six-track project, marking the highly anticipated fourth installment of his acclaimed Soundgod Fest series, is now available on all major streaming platforms. This compact yet impactful offering showcases Runtown’s signature blend of Afrofusion, R&B, and dancehall, delivered with a refined and introspective edge, solidifying his legacy as the “Soundgod.”

Following a brief hiatus since his critically acclaimed 2022 album, Signs, Soundgod Fest IV balances nostalgic elements with innovative sounds, demonstrating Runtown’s artistic maturity and evolution. The EP opens with “Mood Swings,” a lush, emotionally charged track that explores the unpredictability of love with silky vocals and a captivating rhythmic groove, immediately setting a soulful tone. This is followed by “Mon Bébé,” a tender love letter that beautifully weaves poetic French expressions with infectious Afro-R&B beats, highlighting Runtown’s lyrical finesse.

The previously released fan-favorite, “Do Me,” returns as a passionate anthem, now finding new context within the EP’s cohesive arc. “End A Man” delivers a reflective take on betrayal and resilience, notably sampling Bow Wow’s “Thank You” for a nostalgic R&B twist. A standout moment on the project is “Dangerous Hearts,” featuring acclaimed UK singer-producer Mr. Hudson. This track resurrects a gem from Signs with a newly cleared sample of Sade’s “Sweetest Taboo,” creating a cinematic and hauntingly romantic vibe that captivates listeners. The EP concludes with a cohesive flow that seamlessly blends vulnerability with Runtown’s characteristic confidence.

Originally slated for a June 13 release, the project was meticulously rescheduled to ensure every track was polished to perfection, building on the momentum of lead singles “Flow” (December 2024) and “Do Me” (April 2025). Produced in collaboration with top-tier talents, the EP’s tight structure emphasizes quality over quantity, reflecting Runtown’s dedication to his craft.

Fans have already greeted Soundgod Fest IV with immense enthusiasm, praising its emotional depth and the compelling contribution from Mr. Hudson. This EP is a masterclass in self-assuredness, bridging Runtown’s Nigerian roots with a universal sound, making it a must-listen for both long-time fans and new listeners alike.

Stream Soundgod Fest IV now on all major platforms.
