Music producer, Samklef has taken to social media to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Wizkid’s debut album Superstar, reflecting on his journey from homelessness to success.
In an emotional post on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Samklef recounted his struggles as a young producer, including sleeping on the floor at Mudina studio in Oregun while working on tracks like Tease Me and being humiliated by a music director for being unable to pay N5,000 during a video shoot.
He shared how he moved in with a friend, Rodney, and his family, who showed him kindness during tough times. Despite making some money, Samklef initially chose to rent a friend’s studio instead of a house, where he produced the hit Don’t Dull.
Eventually, he secured an office space in Ogba, where he completed four more tracks for the Superstar album. Reflecting on his humble beginnings, Samklef expressed pride in his growth and achievements.
“Happy 13th anniversary to Wizkid’s ‘Superstar’ album!” he concluded.
