Senegalese-American singer, Akon has shared his views on two prominent figures in Afrobeat music, favoring Davido over his rival Wizkid in a recent interview.
During the interview that surfaced online on Sunday, May 26, 2024, Akon was asked to choose between Davido and Wizkid. He responded by stating that he often gets into trouble for mentioning anything about Davido, but nevertheless picked the singer.
The interviewer then pointed out that Davido is known for shouting in his songs, to which Akon agreed and even mimicked some of Davido’s vocal expressions, referring to him as the ‘ultimate shouter.’
Akon’s comments sparked reactions among Davido’s fans in the comment section, with some expressing disappointment over Akon’s description of the Nigerian singer.
