The 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) delivered another unforgettable night as Nollywood’s finest talents, filmmakers, and veterans gathered to celebrate the best of African storytelling.

Leading the 2025 AMVCA night’s honours was Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors, which bagged two major awards, Best Lead Actor for Femi Adebayo and Best Lead Actress for Chioma Chukwuka. Although Chioma couldn’t be physically present, she shared an emotional video on Instagram, expressing her gratitude and excitement over the win.

Another highlight came when real-life couple Lateef Adedimeji and Mo’ Bimpe Adedimeji proudly accepted the award for Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa) for their historical drama, Lisabi: The Uprising. The couple thanked God and credited their hardworking team for bringing the powerful story to life.

The ceremony celebrated excellence across various categories, including cinematography, sound design, editing, art direction, and screenwriting. Films like Skeleton Coast, Inkabi, Suspicion, and The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos earned recognition for their technical and creative brilliance.

The 2025 AMVCA was a true celebration of African cinema’s past, present, and future, honouring the icons who paved the way while embracing the rising stars reshaping the industry.
