Seyi Vibez has once again caught fans off guard with the surprise release of his latest extended play (EP), Children of Africa.

The artist had kept quiet about any upcoming projects, so the sudden drop came as a major surprise. The EP features songs like “Mario Kart”, “Shaolin,” “Happy Song,” and “Macho” which is a track in collaboration with American rapper NLE Choppa. The new EP also confirms that Seyi Vibez is now signed to Empire. The project was released under his NSNV Inc. label in partnership with EMPIRE.

Children of Africa follows his 2024 EP, Loseyi Professor, which was released in July 2024. Just like Loseyi Professor was released without any prior warning. The cover art for that 7-track project depicted Seyi Vibez as Albert Einstein, and its tracklist consisted of city names (Lagos, Doha, Casablanca, Santorini, Abu Dhabi, Manchester), concluding with the track “Albert Einstein.”

Surprisingly, this project does not include any production from his long-time collaborator, Dibs well-known as Yo Dibs. The two had worked together on the last nine projects.

Seyi Vibez has made a name for himself with his distinctive musical style. He’s worked with top artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Zlatan, Mayorkun, Simi, Kizz Daniel, Reekado Banks, Young John, Teni, and more. His music resonates deeply with the masses, and he’s earned a reputation with a series of hit songs, such as “Different Pattern,” “Cana,” “Bank of America,” and “Chance.”

In September, reports surfaced that Seyi Vibez had parted ways with his record label, Dapper Music, following contractual disputes. Children of Africa marks his first release after the split.

Here’s a recap of Seyi Vibez’s musical output over the past four years:

Billion Dollar Baby in 2022

Billion Dollar Baby 2.0 in 2022

Memory Card in 2023

Vibez Till Thy Kingdom Come in 2023

NAHAMciaga (2023), featuring hits like “Cana,” “Different Pattern,” “Shazam,” and “Today”

Vibez Inc Mixtape in 2024

Loseyi Professor in 2024

His prolific output continues to impress. The track “Mario Kart” from the new EP has drawn comparisons to hits like “Shazam” from NAHAMciaga, “Doha” from Loseyi Professor, and “Karma” from Thy Kingdom Come for its emotional depth. In “Mario Kart,” Seyi Vibez confidently states, “My music is sweet like vanilla,” further asserting his place as a “Professor” in the game. Meanwhile, “Shaolin” is poised to become a club anthem.

Seyi Vibez also sent a message to his critics in a recent Instagram story, saying, “If you no like Seyi Vibez, na your family problem be that. Family problem is real,” showing he’s unbothered and confident in his music.
