The street-hop rapper is fully focused on floating his self-owned record label, which has a number of artistes on it.
Nigerian street-hop sensation Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has confirmed his exit from Dapper Music entertainment.
The 24-year-old rapper and singer, who hails from Benin, burst onto the scene in 2023 with hits like Elon Musk, Oscroh, and Cast. He has continued his rise in 2024 with his album Shakespopi, a feature on Rema’s smash hit Benin Boys, and a recent collaboration on Juju, a track by Abuja-based femcee Smur Lee featuring Odumodublvck that quickly went viral on TikTok.
Following rumours that fellow street-hop artist Seyi Vibez has also departed from Dapper Music—after wiping his Instagram clean and updating his bio to “independent”—Shallipopi confirmed his own departure, explaining that his contract with the label had naturally concluded. In a recent interview with Naija FM, he clarified that there was no animosity between him and Dapper Music, stating that it simply felt like the right time to take the next step in his career.
