Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi has shared insights into her relationship with her husband, Adekunle Gold.
Speaking in an interview on the recent episode of “Tea with Taypod” podcast on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the artist, who is also a mother, disclosed that she initially had reservations about marrying a fellow musician, as she wasn’t aware of Adekunle Gold’s musical career when they first connected.
Simi revealed that Adekunle Gold, a fan at the time, had sent her messages on Facebook, but she did not respond to them. Interestingly, she discovered later that Adekunle Gold was proficient in Photoshop when they initially met. Despite her initial reluctance to marry a singer, Simi emphasized her profound love for music, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in the industry.
During the podcast, the Jamb Question hitmaker announced her plans to release an album later in the year. The talented songwriter also identified herself as a feminist, advocating for women’s freedom to choose their life paths.
She expressed the belief that every woman should be empowered to make decisions about their lives, emphasizing the importance of allowing women the freedom to pursue diverse lifestyles, whether as a career-focused individual or a dedicated homemaker.
Simi, who has been featured on Alicia Keys’ tour, highlighted the significance of true freedom in allowing women to make choices aligned with their desires and aspirations.
