Nigerian singer, Solid Star, born Joshua Iniyezo, has announced his triumphant return to the music scene following a challenging battle with mental illness.

During an exclusive interview on the Honest Brunch podcast with Nedu Wazobia FM and Co that surfaced online on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the acclaimed artist opened up about his journey to recovery, marked by a sincere apology to those he may have offended during his turbulent period.

Solid Star, renowned for chart-topping hits such as Nwa Baby and One in a Million, bravely shared his experience of undergoing treatment for mental illness at Yaba Left, where he found himself amidst the struggles of others in similar circumstances. Reflecting on his time in treatment, the singer revealed the stark conditions of overcrowded wards, where basic amenities were scarce, with up to 30 people sharing one bathroom and toilet.

However, it was during this introspective period that Solid Star came to terms with the unintentional harm he may have caused due to his mental health challenges. Expressing genuine remorse, the singer issued a sincere apology to those he may have offended while he was unaware of his own health issues.

Acknowledging the invaluable support of friends such as OC, Emmanuel and Peter, among others, who stood by him through thick and thin, Solid Star expressed gratitude for their unwavering assistance during his darkest moments.

Undeterred by his past struggles, Solid Star announced his eagerly awaited return to the studio, hinting at the forthcoming release of his latest track, Depression. Encouraging fans to anticipate his comeback, the singer promised music that surpasses previous achievements, signaling his determination to reclaim his position in the music industry.
