Nigerian singer, Joshua Iniyezo, popularly known as Solid Star, has shared his candid experience as a patient at the psychiatric hospital in Lagos, commonly referred to as Yaba Left for the second time.

In a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the music star revealed details of his second time at the facility, shedding light on the challenges he faced.

Solid Star’s revelation comes in the wake of his earlier confession regarding his battle with addiction to hard substances, particularly Ice, which he was introduced to in 2021. The new video clip, shared on Online Personality, Nedu Ani‘s Instagram page on Monday, March 18, 2024, captures Solid Star recounting his observations while at Yaba Left.

During his stay, One in a Million hitmaker disclosed that he was not placed in a private ward but rather in a general ward alongside other individuals grappling with mental health issues. He described how approximately thirty patients shared a single toilet and bathroom facility, highlighting the stark reality of communal living in such institutions.

Reflecting on his experience, Solid Star expressed astonishment at witnessing varying degrees of mental illness among the patients. He recounted moments of encountering individuals exhibiting behaviors that left him pondering the circumstances that led them to the hospital.

He said, “I come go meet myself for Yaba again, this one no funny o, this one I no go private ward o. This one dem tell me say ‘you go see mad people’. I see people wey mad pass me. No be private place, na general place where different mad people dey stay so everybody dey together. Ah God! That place! The toilet na just one wey everybody dey use and we be like 30 for that place.
