While some fans are excited about the collaboration, many South Africans are not happy with the remix, with some even threatening to boycott the song. The snippet has some South Africans feeling that Davido’s verse takes away from the original track.
When EeQue shared a video to TikTok of him chilling, comments like “Remove [Davido] or we’ll take the streams down” and “you’re here chilling while Davido is ruining the song” were making the rounds. Others are more blunt, saying things like “Davido ruined it all.” Ouch!
It’s clear that some South African fans are feeling protective of their homegrown hit and aren’t feeling the international remix. We’ll have to wait and see if the full song sways their opinion or if the Tswala Bam remix ends up being a hit or a miss.
