The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up to the 36th position in the latest ranking that was released by FIFA while in Africa they move from sixth to fourth.
The three-time Africa Champions won their AFCON 2025 Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya during the last international break. FIFA released the ranking on its official website on Thursday, October 24, 2024
The Super Eagles are behind Morocco, who are Africa’s highest-ranked team in 13th place in the world, Senegal (20th) and Egypt(30th).
In the overall ranking, the World Cup and Copa America Champions, maintain their leadership, through their advantage over France (2nd) and Spain (3rd). Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal are placed in seventh place while Brazil and Italy occupy the 5th and 9th place respectively.
The Three Lions of England occupy the fourth place,. However, Nigerians will hope that the Super Eagles move up again when the next FIFA ranking is released on November 28, 2024.
