“Talk less, vote more” Media mogul Yinka Adebayo urges fans to support for their favourite artists for Headies 2025

At the recent announcement ceremony for The Headies, Mr. Yinka Adebayo, Executive Director of MediaReach OMD Nigeria, took the stage to deliver a passionate plea to fans of Nigerian music. In his speech, Adebayo called on the public to take action and fully support their favorite artists by voting during the upcoming Headies awards.

“Support your talent,” Adebayo urged the crowd, stressing that voting is one of the most powerful ways fans can make a real impact. “Headies is an award, and I think the only language that Headies understands is vote.”

Adebayo went on to highlight a common issue he sees in Nigerian music culture, saying, “Nigerians, we talk more but we do less. It’s only in Nigeria where you’ll see people fail to vote and still question why artists like Olamide should win awards.”

In an emotional appeal, he encouraged fans to put their words into action. “Let’s put our mouth where our money is,” he said. “When the voting portal opens, we should go and cast our votes in support of our talents.”
