Award-winning Nigerian artist Tems has officially launched a groundbreaking platform and initiative dedicated to supporting, connecting, and amplifying the voices of women in music across the African continent.
Announcing the initiative via social media, today, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Tems described the platform as a space designed to champion female creatives and drive meaningful change within the music industry. “I’m so proud to launch @leadingvibeinit,” she wrote. “A platform to support, connect & amplify women in music across Africa.”
The program is set to begin its first activation in August 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria, and is now open to applicants from across the country. Women involved in any aspect of music, whether artists, producers, engineers, or managers, are encouraged to apply and become part of a growing community focused on collaboration, growth, and empowerment.
The initiative reflects Tems’ long-standing commitment to challenging industry norms and creating space for more African women to thrive in music.
