Veteran Nigerian artist Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has expressed strong disapproval over repeated comparisons to controversial street-hop singer Portable.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Akpako Master slammed the comparison, calling it disrespectful to his legacy. Terry G, who rose to fame in the 2000s with his eccentric style and hit songs like Free Madness and Pass Me Your Love, argued that his music has stood the test of time.
“Comparing me to Portable is disrespectful because I actually have music people listen to 10 years later,” Terry G wrote.
While he acknowledged his own reputation for wild behavior during his prime, he added in a follow-up tweet that if the comparisons were based on personality or public antics, he still believes he tops Portable on that front.
Known for his high-energy performances and unconventional style, Terry G was one of the most unpredictable entertainers of his era. His recent posts have sparked conversations online, with fans debating the legacies of both musicians.
