Following the official announcement and confirmation of Asisat Oshoala as one of the latest signings of Bay FC, the social media platform of the US club soccer team has witnessed a huge surge in followers on the platform.
Asisat in an official announced which was shared on Thursday February 1, 2024, was confirmed to be departing from Barcelona after spending five years at the club to join the US side Bay FC on a deal expected to be worth over 160,000 dollars.
Bay FC had been on 9000 followers on X (formerly known as Twitter) and 42000 followers on Instagram before the announcement, but the social media platforms of the football club currently has over 55,000 followers on Instagram and 12,900 followers on X.
Aside from that, her official announcement posts (totalling to 4 in number) has surpassed 20,000 likes each with over 10,000 comments on Instagram and over 3000 likes and 500 comments on X as well.
Bay FC seems to be having a taste of the Asisat Oshoala effect, as the African Female Footballer of the Year 2023 is regarded as one of the biggest assets in women’s football today.
