December in Lagos is always something to remember. Chaotic, interesting, lively and filled with heavy traffic, Detty December always brings the fun to the game and leaves memories for people. It’s also a period where artists come home and organize shows and pop ups to connect with their fans and bond with the local scene. December 2024 proves to be no different, as we’ve had big shows almost every day of the month.
The biggest artists in the game came home and graced many events, parties, clubs and raves. Celebrities from all over the world came to have a detty December with Lagos, and the concerts were on a high level this year. Here’s a list of some of the best concerts we had in December 2024.
Llona: The Homeless ExperienceLlona’s concert was one of the best concerts this December, and one of the most important. It was amazing to see thousands of fans gather together at Terrakulture for one man and sing an entire album word for word. He performed his album-of-the-year project Homeless from track one to the last, and a couple of songs from before the album, and fans sang along to every line.
The event was timely, orderly and sold out. It was important because it gave hope and stood as a symbol for the next generation, that breaking out in a year, having a very successful album in a saturated marking and having a sold out show off the album is possible. Big ups to Llona.
The Bonfire Experience with Victony
Victony is known for his attention to every detail involved in his art and his concerts are no different. In his third concert in Lagos, he delivered a stellar experience at the Landmark Centre. Though there was no bonfire lit as the concert was held indoors, Victony made up for what was missing with an impeccable set design, a fire setlist and the best guest appearances.
He brought out Odeal, BNXN, Magixx, Crayon, Peruzzi, Blaqbonez, Terry G, Bracket, Qing Madi, Tariq, Patoranking, Fola, YKB, Timmie and more. With a twenty thousand naira access fee, you definitely got your money’s worth.

Jeriq Hood: Homecoming
Jeriq’s show was probably the biggest show this December. He sold out two stadiums, one in Onitsha and one in Enugu. The ‘sold out’ was sold out, as clips from the show showed that the stadiums were filled to the brim, and had a lot of people outside. It’s no surprise, as he has one of the biggest followings in Nigeria in the East, and would be way bigger and respected than he is if the industry was decentralized enough.
The documentation of Afrobeats hasn’t spread out to the East and North yet, but Jeriq’s concert was every artist’s desire locally this year. It’s also proof that you don’t necessarily need mainstream success and Lagos’s approval to eat good from music in Nigeria.

Even In The Day
For two years running, Evenintheday has been the biggest non-artist event in the country, and isn’t looking like it’s about to rest soon. An event built around Pineapple DJ Six7even, Evenintheday has been successful by every right since it’s started in 2023 at Mera Mera.
It received nationwide attention and success when it hosted its December 2023 edition with Skyla Tylaa as it’s guest DJ. The edition had superstars in attendance and went viral globally as the event where Wizkid and Davido made ‘peace’. This year, they had Skyla Tylaa again, and Virgo Deep as its headliner. They also had the biggest street DJs like DJ Cora and DJ YK Mule as performing DJs.
Wizkid also attended for the second year running. Selling out Muri Okunola park in a two day event, they made a serious statement to the entertainment space and pushed forward the shift from clubs to raves in the nightlife space. Familiar faces like Ruger, Poco Lee, FireboyDml, Yhemo Lee, Pheelz and more were in attendance, and it was something for the history books.

Rema live in concert
Rema’s presence on stage is no longer news to many. Whether it’s his own concerts or stages he’s booked for, he doesn’t fail to deliver. He announced days before his concert that he wouldn’t be late to his concert and he doesn’t expect his fans to, and he kept to his word.
It’s amazing when artists pay attention to the littlest details in their art, and I was impressed when the clock hit 00:01 Monday morning and Rema performed “Monday morning talking about me while I’m making money”. I found that very impressive as little as it was.

Rema delivered a standard concert and filled up the TBS in superstar fashion. He brought out a lot of his friends like the Mavin Family and Bnxn. Surely, Rema’s concerts are setting a new standard for concerts in Nigeria.
