The English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Fiorentina wing back, Michael Kayode a 19 year old player.
The Italian full-back has been a revelation for Fiorentina managing to score a goal and create four others in thirty-seven matches from the back. Kadew, who signed with Fiorentina from Gozzano in July 2021 after being let go by the Juventus academy in 2020, played in his first two years in the Primavera team. Due to his excellent performances, he was promoted to Vincenzo Italiano’s team for the season, 2023-2024.
The player, whose full name is Michael Olabode Kayode was born in Italy to Nigerian parents but has already played for the Italian youth team and informed that after further developing his game, he plans to play for the Italian team only.
Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta has taken an interest in performances of Kayode. Also, Serie A winners Inter Milan have set their sights on him as Dumfries’ potential successor as his contract ends in the summer transfer window.
And as reported by Tutto Mercato Web in Italy, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the player. It has been estimated that Fiorentina is willing to let go of the young star in the region of €40 million, but to date, no club has been willing to meet this price tag.
The player is willing to consider other offers outside Fiorentina and the board is expected to sit down and determine the amount the soccer talent is worth. Fiorentina is in a stronger bargaining position since the 19-year-old wing-back currently has a contract until the 2028/29 season with the club staying at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
