A high-profile New York attorney has confirmed that he has been hired by Tupac’s family to investigate a potential link between the rapper’s murder and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Combs is currently facing multiple accusations, including sexual assault, rape, and human trafficking, from several lawsuits, as well as federal charges stemming from a three-count indictment alleging that he kidnapped and trafficked women “to fulfill his sexual desires.” New York-based attorney Alex Spiro told Court TV that he has been tasked with investigating the music mogul and his possible connections to Tupac’s family and the unsolved 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.
The late rapper was gunned down in Las Vegas, and his homicide remained unsolved until Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested and charged with his murder in 2023. Although Davis is the only individual charged in the case, he previously accused Diddy of being involved in the planning of Tupac’s murder.
A detective who testified before the grand jury that indicted Davis stated that Marion “Suge” Knight Jr., who was also injured in the shooting, allegedly told people that Combs was “responsible, if not directly, indirectly, for the murder of his good friend.”
With Diddy now facing serious legal challenges, other prominent rappers have come forward to accuse him of being involved not only in Tupac’s murder but also in the death of Christopher Wallace, known as “The Notorious B.I.G.,” who was killed in a drive-by shooting just months after Tupac’s death. These allegations have reignited Tupac’s family’s pursuit of justice.
In his new song “Fuel,” rapper Eminem also references Tupac’s murder, rapping: “Notorious B.I.G.’s death was the domino effects of Tupac’s murder, like facial tissue, who’s clock should I clean next? Puff’s? ‘Til he’s in police handcuffs, guilty, will he step up?” Eminem previously accused Diddy of involvement in Tupac’s murder in his 2018 track “Killshot,” where he said, “Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed.”
Diddy has consistently denied any involvement in Tupac Shakur’s murder, but Tupac’s family is now seeking answers through the newly launched investigation.
