Sadiq Umar releases official statement on injury and removal from Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 squad

Nigerian forward, Sadiq Umar has released an official statement where he revealed how his injury situation had gone and addressed why he was dropped from the Super Eagles of Nigeria AFCON 2023 side.

The forward revealed that he had picked up a knock in the friendly game against Guinea before AFCON 2023 in which the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s medical team had diagnosed as an injury that will keep him out of the tournament for 15 days and as such he had to be dropped by the team.

Sadiq Umar went on to explain that after he was dropped from the Nigeria AFCON 2023 squad he made a trip back to Spain where he was tested and it was discovered that it was nothing but a bruise.

Debates have taken over social media following the return to training of a Super Eagles of Nigeria player who was recently dropped from the 25-man squad list for AFCON 2023 due to injury

A debate broke out on social media following a recent video shared by the La Liga club side Real Sociedad showing the Nigerian forward Sadiq Umar back on the grass after being removed from the Super Eagles of Nigeria at AFCON 2023 due to a reported knee injury meant to keep him out of any football activity for the next three weeks.

Sadiq Umar was replaced by Paul Onauchu after it was reported that the Nigerian international had picked up a knock in the friendly match played ahead of AFCON 2023 by Nigeria against Guinea.
