Virgil van Dijk is one of the players that might be leaving Liverpool Football club at the end of this season ( 2024/25) when his current contract with the Reds expires.
The future of the Dutchman is yet to be sorted with less than four months before his deal with Liverpool ends. Virgil van Dijk gave an update on his contract after the Carabao Cup final defeat against Newcastle United stating that an announcement will be made before the season comes to an end.
What did Van Dijk say about his future at Liverpool?
He said,
“Before the end of the season there’s going to be news. As long as I’m full committed and have my full focus on the task ahead, and I love the club, that’s the main thing. That’s who I am”.
He also spoke about how close Liverpool are to winning the Premier League title.
He said,
“Let’s hope so, but we can’t think about it like that. We have to turn this around. It’s how football works: in five days you lose twice and the world is sinking, sort of how you can say it, and two weeks before everything was sunshine and rainbows everywhere.”
The other players whose contract will expire at the end of this season include the club’s talisman, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, they will hope that Liverpooĺ will win the Premier League title.
