Liverpool confirmed the new contract of Virgil van Dijk on its official website on Thursday, April 17, 2025. According to reports from the club, the Dutchman decided to sign a two year deal with the Reds.

He revealed on the club’s website after he signed a contract extension that Anfield is the best place for him to sign a contract extension.
He said,
“Liverpool is the place for me to be, to spend my best years, be successful with the club as we have been over the years and hopefully the future as well. I love everything that embodies Liverpool, and on to many more. The future here I think it’s exciting. it’s exciting for what’s coming.”
