The Macallan went all out to celebrate the release of its latest rare single-malt Scotch whisky, and it was a night to remember.
The event which was held at Harbour Point, Lekki, Lagos was one for the books, with the spotlight on the exquisite notes of aged whisky that captivated every guest’s senses.
The guests were drawn to the captivating promise of an unforgettable evening. Spotted mingling among the crowd were Multimedia personality, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi; Media personality, Uti Nwachukwu; Award-winning Fashion Designer, Mai Atafo; and Entrepreneur and CEO, Eton House, Francis Obozuwa.
This wasn’t just any ordinary launch—it was a full-blown experience. As guests arrived, they were greeted by a magnificent poetry presentation by Wana Wana that brought to life the story of Alexander Reid, The Macallan’s founder.
The poem whisked attendees back to 1824, where the magic of The Macallan began. Paired with a mesmerising music performance by The Cavemen, the stage was set for what was to come: a night where history, art, and whisky mixed spectacularly.
Of course, the true star of the evening was the “Tales of The Macallan Volume II” itself, encased in a handcrafted Lalique crystal decanter, the whisky was unveiled to exciting applause by the guests.
The Macallan’s Brand Ambassador and Educator, Lagos, Daniel Atteh guided the guests through the tasting notes, describing its bronzed oak colour and complex aromas of rich forest fruits, sweet aromatic woodsmoke, and dark chocolate orange. It was an education in luxury, but also a celebration of a legacy 200 years in the making.
The launch was more than just a celebration of a new whisky; it was a tribute to the incredible craftsmanship that defines The Macallan. It was a night that honoured the past while looking to the future, bringing together the world’s greatest craftspeople under one luxurious roof.
As the night drew to a close, guests left with more than just memories; they left with a story—a tale of craftsmanship, history, and, of course, incredible whisky. With only 344 decanters of this rare whisky available worldwide, this story is as exclusive as the whisky itself.
