Veteran Nigerian actress Bukky Wright has opened up about her desire to remarry, revealing that while she remains hopeful, she’s leaving the decision in God’s hands.
In a heartfelt interview with BBC Yoruba, the 58-year-old actress, businesswoman, and politician said:
“On the issue of marriage, I’m still very much interested but that is if God has destined it. It is not a must.”
Bukky, who has been married five times—her most recent marriage to Adewale Onitiri ended in divorce—explained that her faith plays a central role in her outlook on love and marriage.
“When I went to Al Kaaba, I told God, and I know He is a God that answers prayers,” she added.
With a career spanning more than 20 years and over 100 films to her name including the iconic 1999 Nollywood hit Saworoide. Wright remains a beloved figure in both Yoruba and English-language cinema
