Why Man United won’t consider any transfer bid for Bruno Fernandes

Reports have now revealed why Man United will not consider a transfer bid for captain, Bruno Fernandes amidst interests from top sides.

Bruno Fernandes has become the latest big-name target in Saudi Arabia’s ever-expanding football project. Al Hilal, one of the region’s most dominant clubs, are showing genuine interest in signing the Manchester United captain this summer, identifying him as one of their priority targets as they continue their aggressive push to bring top European talent to the Saudi Pro League.

It’s not hard to see why. Bruno is the kind of player any ambitious club would want, talented, experienced, and consistently productive. Since arriving at Old Trafford in January 2020, he’s been the heartbeat of Manchester United’s midfield.

Al Hilal’s interest is no surprise given their recent track record. They’ve already pulled off high-profile signings in the past year, and landing someone like Bruno would be a massive coup, not just for the team, but for the league.

It would signal that Saudi clubs aren’t just chasing the twilight years of players’ careers, but are willing to go after captains and core players at Europe’s biggest clubs.

But Man United aren’t planning to entertain that idea anytime soon. Despite the growing speculation, no talks have taken place between the clubs. There’s been no bid, no approach, and no green light.

Man United remain adamant, Bruno Fernandes is not for sale. He’s seen as a crucial piece of the puzzle, both for the current squad and for any future plans being laid under the INEOS-led regime.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Man United is focused on making sure Bruno feels that he’s part of a clear and ambitious project. After a frustrating season, there’s a sense internally that holding on to key players like him is essential to reestablishing United’s identity and direction. Letting go of their captain especially without a solid replacement strategy would send the wrong message at the worst possible time.

Of course, in football, interest can quickly become pressure, and pressure can turn into offers. But as of now, Manchester United’s message couldn’t be clearer, Bruno stays and is absolutely not for sale. Given everything he’s brought to the club so far, it’s hard to argue against that decision.
