
Grammy-winning Nigerian music icon, Wizkid, has reached an extraordinary career milestone by becoming the first African artist to surpass 20 billion global audio-on-demand streams.
The achievement was officially confirmed by respected global music data platform, ChartMasters.
According to the platform, the combined total of streams from the lead singles and collaborations od Wizkid has now crossed the 20 billion mark across various platforms worldwide. Among his impressive catalogue, his most-streamed contribution remains his feature on Drake’s global hit One Dance, alongside British singer Kyla. The track alone boasts over 3.6 billion streams on Spotify and holds a Guinness World Record as the first song to hit 1 billion streams on the platform.
This latest milestone adds to Wizkid’s list of groundbreaking achievements. In 2023, he made history as the first African artist to earn the Brit Billion Award after surpassing one billion audio-on-demand streams in the United Kingdom.
With more than 65 million units sold globally, Wizkid continues to cement his legacy as the best-selling Afrobeats artist in history and one of Africa’s most successful musical exports on the international stage.
