The unending social media jabs between the two Afrobeats stars and their camps continue.
Nigerian Grammy-winning Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has slammed his colleague, Davido, in a series of new tweets.
The Starboy Entertainment frontman, who is expected to drop his first single off his upcoming album ‘Morayo’ soon, has been hosting release parties for the highly anticipated song, with events in Paris and London. However, it appears he still has enough time for some Twitter drama.
Back in April 2024, Wizkid and Davido were involved in a fiery clash, exchanging heated words on the Elon Musk-owned platform. At one point, Davido referred to Wizkid as “a sick man”—an exchange that surprised many, especially since there had been discussions of a joint tour involving both artists earlier in the year.
In the latest turn of events, the duo is at it again, with Wizkid taking several cryptic shots at Davido before finally addressing him directly on Twitter. The issue seems to have escalated from a cryptic tweet made by Davido’s creative director and close friend, Tycoone, on October 1st, 2024. The tweet, believed by many to be a subtle dig at Wizkid, read: “A certain Daddy should drop new music.” This sparked a renewed exchange between the camps.

Reacting to Tycoone’s tweet, Wizkid retweeted a quote of it, before going on a spree of several tweets believed to be aimed at Davido, especially since Davido had recently previewed his first single of the year. Wizkid tweeted, “Pussy boys dropping mids again! ❤️🦅”, a statement widely interpreted as a jab at Davido’s new release.
The father of four didn’t stop there, as he continued his spree of cryptic tweets, including one where he wrote, “Frogido,” an allusion many believe is a redefined version of his earlier reference to Davido’s so-called “frog voice” (due to Davido’s coarse vocal tone) during their past internet beefs. The Essence crooner eventually made it clear that he was indeed referring to Davido when he directly called the singer “wack” and “not talented.”
As hopes for a unified front between both camps continue to fade, it seems that ship has sailed. The possibility of ever hearing Wizkid and Davido on the same record, let alone seeing them embark on a joint tour, appears more unlikely than ever.
