Nigerian music sensation Wizkid has achieved another milestone in his illustrious career as his hit single Joro becomes eligible for a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
This recognition comes after the song surpassed 500,000 units in sales in the United States.
Released in September 2019, Joro has enjoyed immense success both locally and internationally, contributing significantly to the global exportation of Afrobeats. The Northboi-produced track has amassed: 125 million streams on Spotify and 290 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most viewed Afrobeats music videos
Meanwhile, with Joro, this achievement adds to the impressive list of RIAA Gold certification earned by Wizkid. It cements his status as the most certified Nigerian artist in the United States. His certifications include: Diamond: One Dance (feat. Drake), 4X Platinum: Essence (feat. Tems), 4X Platinum: Come Closer (feat. Drake), Gold: Soco, Gold: Mood (feat. BNXN), Gold: Call Me Everyday (with Chris Brown) and Gold: Brown Skin Girl (with Beyonce and Saint Jhn)
