Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ re-enters Billboard World album chart

Once again, Wizkid’s acclaimed album Made in Lagos has secured a place on the Billboard World Album Chart for the fifth consecutive year.

In a remarkable achievement, Nigerian superstar Wizkid’s critically acclaimed album Made in Lagos has etched its name on the walls of music history by becoming the first African album to chart on the Billboard World Albums chart for five consecutive years. This feat not only highlights Wizkid’s enduring global appeal but also underscores the album’s timeless significance in the music industry.

Made in Lagos ranked in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. The indomitable album was released in 2020. The album secured nominations at the 64th Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance.

The 14-track project features guest appearances from the likes of Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Tay Iwar, Projexx, Tems and Terri. The deluxe edition, boasting additional guest appearances from Buju and Justin Bieber, hit the shelves on August 27, 2021. The album ranked at number 19 on the 2024 version of the Billboard World Album Chart.

The sensational artist announced the completion of his sixth studio album. His new album, titled Morayo, is a tribute to his late mother and marks Wizkid’s sixth studio album. Jane Dolapo Balogun passed away on August 18, 2023, and her loved ones laid her to rest in October of the same year.
