The supporters of Barcelona are worried about the future of Xavi Hernandez at the club after he announced his departure earlier in the season.
During a press conference before his team’s league game against Cadiz, Xavi was asked if he would change his mind about staying at the club. He stated that he would not be at the club for the 2024/25 season, regardless of how this current season (2023/24) ends.
Xavi firmly stated,
“My decision to leave the club at the end of the season will not change. The decision I made is the right one. It has given peace of mind to the club, players, press, environment and me. I’m not changing my mind.”
Despite Xavi’s announcement, there have been many positive results for Barcelona. They currently stand in second place on the league table, eight points behind Real Madrid. Additionally, they have secured a place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League following their 3-2 victory over PSG.
