Chelsea’s target Xavi Simons has made a huge decision amid his transfer saga from RB Leipzig to join the Club World Cup Champions Chelsea ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Xavi Simons is one of the top players that Chelsea are looking to bring to Stamford Bridge aside from Jorrel Hato who is close to joining the Blues from Ajax on a long term deal. The Netherlands international is keen to making to completing his move from Leipzig to join Chelsea.

Simons sparked controversy on social media after he removed Leipzig’s official social media account from his Bio on Instagram. The midfielder initially tagged Puma and Leipzig’s accounts on his bio but he recently has only that of the footwear.

Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the first step for Chelsea to getting the Simons deal over the line is for them to part with some players. They want to complete some outgoings before closing the transfer. Also, the Blues want to spend less than the fee RB Leipzig want.

The Blues have already sold Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, among others. However, the club are looking to generate some more funds with the departures of Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Berniot Badiashile and maybe Nicolas Jackson.
