Porto’s midfielder Ziadu Sanusi has reportedly been ruled out the this week’s UEFA Champions League game against Arsenal.
The Super Eagles player picked up an injury in Porto’s 2-0 victory over Estrela da Amadora in the Primera Liga on Saturday, February 17, 2024. According to reports, the club’s manager Sergip Conceicao confirmed that the Nigerian suffered a knock.
Sanusi was stretched off after just 32 minutes, which automatically ruled him out of the game against Arsenal midweek and most likely for the rest of the season. This is his first game since returning from AFCON and this might also be his last game of the season according to reports in Portugal.
The 27-year-old was a pivot for the Super Eagles during the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations which was hosted in Cote d’Ivoire. The Ivorians won the tournament by beating Nigeria 2-1 in the final.
