Zimbabwe is set to host a powerful fusion of creativity and climate consciousness as EUNIC Zimbabwe unveils Harmonies of Expression – Connecting Art, Heart and Science, a landmark cultural event celebrating artistic collaboration between Zimbabwean and European creatives. The event will take place on May 10th, 2025, in Harare, with the venue to be announced soon.
Presented by EUNIC Zimbabwe — a coalition of European Embassies and Institutes — the exhibition will explore how art can be a compelling force for environmental awareness and social dialogue. The event marks a milestone in Zimbabwe-Europe cultural exchange and aims to spark critical conversations around climate change, particularly its impact on water resources and shifting rainfall patterns in Zimbabwe.
Harmonies of Expression: The day-long program will feature a rich tapestry of interdisciplinary artistic showcases including:
Culinary arts fused with dance
Live music performances
Furniture and crafts made from recycled materials
Eco-conscious fashion designs
Cross-genre presentations blending fashion and fine art
Photography merged with mixed media installations
These collaborations will see Zimbabwean creatives working alongside artists from France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden, creating immersive, thought-provoking works rooted in both science and emotion.
In a unique effort to decentralize access to the arts, the event will also be broadcast in local languages to 14 community radio stations across the country, extending its reach far beyond the capital. A special panel discussion will be held during the event, focusing on climate change in Zimbabwe, featuring a mix of scientists, artists, and community representatives to explore solutions and lived experiences.
“This is more than just an art exhibition,” said EUNIC Zimbabwe in a statement. “Harmonies of Expression is a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action — it’s about sparking change and building lasting partnerships through creative expression.”
The Harmonies of Expression event is free and open to the public, inviting art lovers, climate change advocates, and curious minds of all backgrounds to engage with one of the most urgent challenges of our time in an innovative and impactful way.

Harmonies of Expression is a project by EUNIC Zimbabwe and National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, Oxfam Zimbabwe, National Association of Community Broadcasters and earGround. EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture – is Europe’s network of national cultural institutes and organisations, with 39 members from all EU Member States and associate countries.
