Nigerian artist Zlatan recounted how Davido and Olamide helped him on his journey to stardom.
Zlatan Ibile has shared how Davido and Olamide supported him during his early days in the music scene. The early days in the life of a new artist weren’t always blissful. Along with the fame comes many financial obligations. Studio session fees, choreographers, set designers, songwriters, and many more are avenues in which finance is needed.
Zlatan revealed during an interview that Davido and Olamide were some of the many people who helped him along the way in his journey to fame. He revealed that Olamide provided him with a complimentary verse for one of his songs. He said, “Olamide saw me on Instagram and called me up. Made a song for me for free. He came to the video shoot for free. That was my breakthrough song in 2017”.
Davido not only collaborated with him on a track but also covered the expenses for his studio session when he couldn’t afford it himself. He said, “Davido saw the song, danced to it. He called me to the house. Made a song for me. I told him I dont have money for a music video. He gave me money for the video and stayed hours for the shoot. It’s been blessings on blessing sice then”.
Zlatan also reflected on a time when he won a car but had to sell it due to financial constraints, even after trying to use it as a taxi. He credited Olamide and Davido for being instrumental in turning his fortunes around. This isn’t the first time Zlatan has praised Olamide and acknowledged his significant role in his career, as he has previously highlighted the support Olamide has extended to other aspiring artists in the industry.
